He can't solve the problem because then we would have nothing to talk about and I would have to actually do real work!
  • Post in thread: Incrementally Adding AC Batteries

I'm gonna have to Google AC battery
  • Post in thread: SSR testing

Just got these 2 bad boys to test one is a 200 amp and the other is a 400 amp both DC-AC SSR's. Not to mention the heat sinks could cool a nuclear reactor. Hopefully test tomorrow.
  • Post in thread: Probably something stupid, not getting voltage but continuity

Did you try 2 in series my bet is bad MC4. On one
  • Post in thread: New guy...completely baffled

What i am really interested in knowing is how many Kw of panels they were planning and battery capacity. If you do not know that how many kw per day would you expect I would like to design something just as an idea . I figure if you are willing to do the work and take out the profit from...
  • Post in thread: What is the best BM out there? No I am not trying to start a fight LOL

Will has a lot of videos and they have evolved over the years. It is widely accepted to charge the cells in parallel to top balance them, charging them to top balance produces faster results than just hooking them in parallel. It is not the only way, your way will work quite fine as well.
  • Post in thread: SSR testing

Can we get this thread back to SSR testing and results. You guys have moved this way off topic. Even if it is useful info. Maybe you can start another thread. Personally I don't want a complicated solution. The whole goal was one or 2 low draw SSR to use for HVD and LVD. This may not be...
  • Post in thread: DC Fridge or AC fridge with inverter?

Go with the AC fridge and the inverter upgrade whatever you need panels are really cheap. Up until this week i swore by using a chest freezer that I turned off at times to keep it from freezing but I got tired of accidentally freezing stuff . So I purchased a large dorm fridge from home depot...
  • Post in thread: Building a "better" BMS

I am currently trying to build my own BMS. The reason why is that I cant find any suitable products that allow custom cell ranges and networked communications that are not Bluetooth. I need WiFi or Ethernet capabilities. I posting this thread for other peoples ideas of what a BMS should...
  • Post in thread: Solor fridge..

So yesterday after reading this I walked out my front door and my neighbor across the street had a small chest freezer for sale. I bought it for 50 bucks and will do some tests with power draw and report back. I will look for a similarly sized refrigerator maybe and compare.

  • Post in thread: Feedback requested - 2 120 watt 80 volt panels, what next??

80 volt panels are a thing I have 3 of them and they work just fine I use a makeskyblue SCC . They are not dangerous. You just need a cheap SCC that can handle 100 volts. An inverter and maybe a deep cycle marine battery if you want to keep prices down. For about $600.00 total including...
  • Post in thread: LiFepo4 top balancing equipment recommendations

I use this they also have a 15 volt 60 amp model https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L4LC9XK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  • Post in thread: Who is using solar 100% in a vehicle or house?

My cabin is 100% solar I dont even bother with a generator anymore.
  • Post in thread: 24v or 12v 3000 victron

if you do a 12v system even with the 100Amp SCC you will only get a max of 1200watts per hour into your battery leaving 300+watts on the table. if you do 24V at 100 amps you can process 2400 watts per hour using all your panels potential. The 60 amp SCC at 12 v you only get 720 watts about...
  • Post in thread: Gone Backpacking.

Just walked out if mountains after 3 awesome weeks of bliss without internet. I have about 30 PM's to respond to. I will as soon as I can. Please be patient.
  • Post in thread: LTO "Grade A" Aliexpress Cells

This is why I developed a system to test every cell before I sell them on ebay. Grade A is Chinese for they look pretty. After testing over 1000 cells I have found 2 suppliers that actually sell full capacity cells as advertised
  • Post in thread: NEW CHARGERY MANUAL NOW ONLINE - THX JASON AND @STEVE_S

LOL that is a loaded question. Yes there is but it will require additional equipment. I can not say as of now that it is an easy process. What I'm gonna need to do is start making my own videos.
  • Post in thread: If you had 2000 dollars

12 250 watt panels SanTan Solar $600.00 plus shipping $300.00 2500 watt inverter $300.00 2 Make sky blue SCC 60Amps each 200.00 24V Diy Battery whatever you can make for $600.00 You would be able to run heater when the sun is out but not at night
  • Post in thread: Location of controller/battery/inverter?

Are you only using the ac power from the solar system or do you plan on using both AC and DC . If you are only using AC i would suggest you put controll center as close to panels as possible then using exterior grade romex or something to go from charge center to house.
  • Post in thread: JUST SAY NO !! IC GOGOGO Store

I get them straight from Jason I just wanted to have a bunch here in the states so that people don't need to wait for shipping. I'm really not making any money after shipping and fees. I wanted a group by situation and don't mind carrying the costs so people can buy as needed.
  • Post in thread: Will blasts Chargery

He isn't saying to use the batteries unprotected. But to use the Chargery to controll the SCC and inverter directly. This is how I do it with my Midnite classic and my samlex EVO. I do not use the AC charging with the EVo but if I did I would never expect for LVD as the AC charging should...
  • Post in thread: Battery connector cables

I use welding cable for everything. I really have no clue as to it's temp rating but if you get above about 130 F I think you have other problems
  • Post in thread: Looking for a DC Ammeter that can connect serial/usb/bluetooth to a computer

    I use python but that can easily be sent to db. #!/usr/bin/env python from pymodbus.client.sync import ModbusSerialClient as ModbusClient client = ModbusClient(method='rtu', port='/dev/ttyUSB0', timeout=1, stopbits = 2, bytesize = 8, parity='N', baudrate= 9600) client.connect() def...
  • Post in thread: New guy...completely baffled

I agree more is needed but he wanted to expand this would be a start adding batteries down the road is easy. My goal was to show that the solar could be created for less than the cost of having the utility connection.
  • Post in thread: Direct to water heating.

It doesn't matter if they wander you can use 12v with a 240 volt heating element. It won't get you that far but it will get warmer than nothing. I was just answering the question as it was posted. I actually would do it the other way around. Use my solar to fill my batteries then use excess...
  • Post in thread: Will blasts Chargery

One other observation about the video. Evidently Wills cells were a little out of balance since it stopped charging due to cell differences in voltage. I wish he would of shown the cell voltage screen and how you can quickly see where your bad cell is and how weather or not its a problem.
  • Post in thread: ANT BMS. Final answer? Yes, final answer.

Come on Will we all know CHUNKY is better than CREAMY!!!
  • Post in thread: Custom balancing leads for Daly BMS!

I made a BMS connector that uses these Terminal blocks. This way I use my own wire from cells to terminal blocks then connect the bms to the terminal block. It also allows for fast testing of cell voltages with my multi meter...
