  • Post in thread: Seplos upright case build finished today !

just finished building my 16 x 280Ah EVE cells in an upright mobile case from Seplos, i had a few minor issues, but sorted them out and am really pleased with the end result The instructions didnt quite 'fit' the reality, or the parts i received, but a few tweaks and its ready to go. if...
  • Post in thread: What is so hard to understand about Do laundry during the day!!

my socks are that fed up of being washed, that now some of them hide in some special hiding place, never to be seen again and they have to be paired up with other left behind socks. although they dont match each other in terms of fabric, length and pattern they seem to enjoy each others company ...
  • Post in thread: Seplos sent the wrong Mason unit, mediation stranded

I wonder if someone else (in Finland) got your case ....? To me you should get what you ordered at no additional cost to yourself. If they want the upright case back, let them pay for shipping!! If you had ordered a television but got a refrigerator.......? What's the difference?
  • Post in thread: Seplos upright case build finished today !

5 Supplied with the case were these packings/shims Perhaps they are to allow for different cell heights and are used to pack up from the bottom? They cant be to be fitted in between the cells as the cells would then not fit. I decided not to use them as packings from the bottom, as it...
  • Post in thread: Seplos BMS not charging/discharging after cold weather - Resolved 'operator error' DOH!!

ok, ive sorted it !!! all working as it should. The solution ---- my battery disconnect switch had failed - so no power was getting to the inverter, no wonder it wouldnt charge or discharge ......!!! i found it by being methodical and using my multimeter to test everything .... @SeaGal - you...
  • Post in thread: Hi all from the UK - Looking to design and install a complete PV + Battery solution for 2024

Which is where I am at the moment at this time of year, not a lot of sun but I knew that would be the case when setting it all up. I am getting some solar but most of that is being used to cover the general house consumption.
  • Post in thread: Basengreen UK warehouse

all cells come with 'some' charge and i assume that out of 1000 cells there might be one or two that are significantly lower than the others - that is purely guess work on my part though and might be a load of bollox!! i dont think cells can be shipped/transported at full charge, but again that...
  • Post in thread: Storing heat in bricks

Things have moved on a lot since then. We have storage heaters Dimplex Quantums (the latest can be controlled via the internet) as we don't have access to a gas supply (as in natural gas not petrol). We store the heat in the bricks inside the heaters using overnight cheap rate electricity, which...
  • Post in thread: Seplos sent the wrong Mason unit, mediation stranded

there seems to be a problem with communications between the Seplos BMS v2 and v3, that Seplos are supposedly aware of ... just a heads up if anyone is thinking of adding additional storage (as i am) ....
  • Post in thread: South West of France thinking about taking the plunge

i would also consider DIY if you are able to. as regards pre used panels, new panels are now so cheap that i wouldnt bother with pre loved. i would def look at non 'named' batteries, thats where there could be a massive saving, especially if you can build the battery yourself, even assembling it...
  • Post in thread: 72 Free 100 Watt Panels - off grid (mostly) would like comments

ditch/sell the panels, use the mounting rails and fit less but more capacity panels. for instance if one panel goes faulty, its a lot to trace and replace. new panels are more efficient and dropping in price all the time, so i would def consider buying new. nothing wrong with buying or using s/h...

  • Post in thread: Help us design a rack-mounted system for the UK

Ben, i think the issue wont just be with the shipping, when they get to their destination, how will someone be able to pick them up and move them? However if you also designed a self build pack of four boxes of cells and one box containing the rack mount (or wall mount?) then it becomes more viable
  • Post in thread: Understanding grid tie system

Where in Suffolk, we're in Clacton .... If it's registered under FiT then you're on a bonus, but buy the house because it's what you want, not because of the system. Ask the seller for details of payments via FiT for the last two years .... We have a FiT system and added batteries and an...
  • Post in thread: DIY Battery Solar Diverter

i think you may wish to consider what i have done in similar circumstances (Feed in Tariff which i didnt want to lose!) but wanted to add battery storage and potentially more PV. i have fitted a Sunsynk ECCO hybrid inverter (5kw) and 14.3kw of storage (soon to be increased to double that size...
  • Post in thread: Hi all from the UK - Looking to design and install a complete PV + Battery solution for 2024

where in Essex, i am in Clacton and have assembled my own Fogstar battery. Happy to share my experience so far, which has been excellent - i have a Sunsynk 5kw inverter, 14.3kw self assembled Fogstar battery (plus a 3.6kw Power One Aurora inverter and 4kw of PV installed under the FiT scheme) i...
  • Post in thread: Future of DIY LiFePO4 looks bleak…

i think the battery storage 'market' in the UK will increase significantly in the next couple of years. there are probably tens of thousands of solar power arrays that get paid for producing energy but feed most of it back to the grid and then have to buy it back later in the evening/early...
  • Post in thread: Help us design a rack-mounted system for the UK

would it be weird to tell the world i love my Seplos Mason L (upright) case from Fogstar?
  • Post in thread: beginner camper battery help ? :)

Take a look at the Renogy 3000W inverter, we've had it in for about ten months now (alongside a Fogstar 304AH lithium) and it's been brilliant. I particularly like it's pass through facility when in electric hook up. I started off with a 1000w, then 2000w inverters, I wish I had gone for the...
  • Post in thread: Batteries selling energy to grid?

CT clamps are loose fitting clamps that are clamped onto cables on your electricity incoming supply, they detect which direction the current is flowing and if current is flowing back to the grid it will stop that happening by sending a signal to your inverter, if that's the way your inverter has...
  • Post in thread: Seplos V3 force charge

I have a Sunsynk 5kw and more than pleased with it. I watched most of the videos on line and only struggled where I missed a step. It was down to me not following the instructions that were available albeit they weren't specific to my setup (existing Feed in Tariff). I've had it up and running...
  • Post in thread: Seplos sent the wrong Mason unit, mediation stranded

Shame you're not in the UK... Those cases are becoming quite popular and I'm sure some people would jump at the chance to get one at a well reduced price!
  • Post in thread: Seplos upright case build finished today !

as you said, i think the issue will be the connections/cable ribbons as i assume they will be different, BUT they are only cables, so you could make up your own or just ignore the aesthetics and leave well alone, if it aint broke, dont fix it !
  • Post in thread: 15s vs 16s

  • Post in thread: SUNSYNK-3.6K-SG04LP1 ECCO and Seplos Mason 280L BMS V3 issue

RESULT, I bought an Ohme Pro Charger 'pre loved' last year and tried to set it up to charge the outlander, but because its a tethered charger, with a type 2 plug, i tried to use a type 1 to type 2 charging lead attached to the existing type 2 lead from the charger. No luck, kept showing car not...

  • Post in thread: Mismatched strings - south/west facing roof.

The Sunsynk works exactly the same. I have a 3.6 Aurora Power One inverter installed under FIT and a Sunsynk ECCO 5kw. I use the microgenerator setting on the Sunsynk to harvest any excess from the FIT PV system. However, when I fit my second battery, I may just sell any PV production back to...
  • Post in thread: Solar, battery storage and Immersion controller

I have something similar albeit with an existing PV system and set mine up with the order of the CT clamps being 1 inverter - which feeds the battery 2 hot water heater 3 grid When 1 is 'satisfied' energy goes to 2 and then if that is 'satisfied' it goes to the grid Perhaps you could...

@Rocketman @Alkaline @niktak11 @Tulex as requested - i will have to post this in parts due to the size if the document .... Seplos Mason Mobile Home Storage Battery Case Please note, although i had a couple of issues that i needed to resolve, i am more than happy with the case. It has a...
  • Post in thread: Seplos upright case build finished today !

4 Before fitting the case linings, it is important to check the cells actually fit! I used 280Ah EVE Grade A cells from Fogstar. I installed the linings prior to checking the cells fitted snugly enough to provide some compression. After placing the first column of cells it was clear that there...
