You know, when i am proved wrong or post something that is pointed out to be misleading, I go back and correct my shortcoming or error. I'm not interested in being right all the time or the first one to post an idea, but i am interested in learning and correcting my errors so others are not...
WHen you discuss LiFePO4 (12v) battery charging with an automotive (12v) alternator, you need to include wire connection specs. If you use 4/0 copper wire, alternator to battery, the charging current will be much higher than if you use the 12 gauge wire usually found in the auto wiring...
So untrue. Article 551 of the NEC is dedicated to RV and RV Parks. You should read it and learn much.
Here's a link to free view of 2020 NEC. You need to create an account and figure how to navigate. But it's free...
Noalox compound, a standard in the electrical utility industry for Cu/Al terminations ?

Took me some time to find this pic of my battery package devices and wire. In 2019 when I built this really compact 3P 12v BB battery package (to fit in a really small tight space, the generator compartment of my old Lance Y2k camper) this is how I stacked the wire lugs on the the battery...
Sorry to have to post this, but this is how I see the DCCS50 device:
I have fiddled around with the DCC50S with BT-2 dongle long enough now to say definitely that I DO NOT RECOMMEND DCC50S to anyone.
The device with its BT2 dongle does not perform to my liking. This means I cannot live with...
There is no grade A or B LiFePO4 cell standard. There is an Automotive cell standard. That's it.
So if a vendor says he is selling Grade A cells, he is. Because he gets to make that statement and base it on his standard.
The boost duration is 2 hours by default. You may have to wait longer for the device to go into float, unless you have successfully used the BT-2 to limit the boost duration to lesss than 2 hours.
And from a previous commen in this post (Select the link to see the comment I am refering to)...
There are 4 parts to this grounding resource material. Look thru all of them to start. Then proceed with the part hat matches your system/needs. Grounding is important.

There are several settings you can change in the Renogy BT app.
If you select Battery Type 'USER', the battery type indicator light turns white.
USER settings are
Advanced Settings:
(many of the setting descriptions are truncated)
- 1 High Voltage Disconnect (V)
- 2 Charge Limit Voltage (V)
-...
If you have never bent emt with a emt bender, buy a little extra EMT to practice with/learn with. There is definately an important technique to learn. Conduit bending becomes a math challenge also. There are small paper back guides/trade books with great info.
Your first solar project is nearly an impossible feet given the roof size, battery weight limits and size/space for them, inverter size. Hope your pockets are really deep. Over 10k$ just for the solar pieces including battery for this system. A small window AC unit is much more efficient than...
I'll bet you never imagined the can of worms you opened up when you made this post. This subject has been hashed over, kicked around, discussed, cussed, preached about and it will never be resolved to everyones satisfaction. Some just want to argue, some believe they have the right answer. At...
Yes. There is :
NFPA 70, NEC Article 551 Recreational Vehicles and Recreational Vehicle Parks
And
ANSI Standard RVIA-LV
There is a free view of the 2020 NEC at :
(you will have to setup an account and log in, but its free view)...
It is my experience, after reading many posts about EVE Prysmatic LifePO4 cells, that there is no such thing as an Grade A, B, C or D cell. EVE tests their LiFePO4 cells against the specs they were built to, as they are being produced and after production. The Chinese governmant has a standard...
I have just read this entire thread end do end. I cannot find any explination of the peoblem or short coming of the BB batteries mentioned. I'd really like to know what the problem was. Can anyonee enlighten me please ?
Sorry, I had not read the entire thread, my mistake. I found the...
While looking for a Renogy customer service response to my Renogy Home App use, I found this old customer service reply for a previous request to clarify the Renogy BT app use and setpoint definitions. This info was emailed to me 8/20/2020. I did not find and read it until tonight :
"Re: BT2...
OK boondocks, if you choose to, we could use a messenger or messaging chat/video to talk and work thru this, or Zoom for that matter. Just let me know. Once you get it synced, you can move on. Android or iPhone ?
A LiFePO4 battery can be charged at bulk charge rate to 100% SOC. Therefore charges in less time than an agm with the same solar cell power and controller rating (the solar controler does need to be setup for LiFePO4 battery charging regiment).
A LiFePO4 battery does not need to be charged to...
I think some have forgotten the function of equipment grounding.
1. To provide a return path to the source that invokes the tripping of an over current device in a circuit ground fault condition. Clears energized equipment surfaces so humans do not provide a ground path (return path for circuit...
When I set battery float at 13.60v (cell float 3.40v), after a Bulk and absorb (absorb time 10 minutes) of 14.1 v, my cylindrical cell 12v battery settles at 13.60 v (the float setting). The SCC settles at 13.60 v, 0.60 a. The battery settles at 13.60v 0.00a. The SCC suppliess the 0.60 amp...
