I agree with your response PV girl, but can you define "subject to physical damage " ? It is not in article 100 last I looked. Everything is subject to physical damage.
Has anyone used this model? I kind of like its modest power rating of 2600 watts, it matches our smaller 48 volt 200 amp hour battery bank. It also has a wide DC input range which should work well with our battery bank chemistry, which is NIFE.
It is branded by a tier one manufacturer, but they...
I am looking for a small AIO 24 volt inverter and about the only one I can find is the Eco-worthy 1500 watt 24 volt model. Any others to consider? We do not require any more than 1500 watts.
This would replace a Victron 24 volt 1200VA inverter and a Rich Solar 40amp MPPT. Both work fine, just...
Depending on time of year, I am not going to get that much sun and our usage is pretty low (2500 watt hours a day) at most unless using future A/C load which will be used mainly during daylight hours. No grid, minimal gennie use.
I have some minor cracks on a couple of the 11 year old jars, will be interesting how they hold up during an electrolyte change. May wrap some duct tape around them before I begin.
I have some LTO 24 volt DIY build battery racks for sale.
They consist of 70 Lishen 18ah cells and 10 Yinlong 35ah cells with 10s daly bms.
These cells were in service for about one year.
These are local pickup in St.Paul/Mpls area.
$700 OBO

Confirmed, will only qualify with inverter generator, Yamaha swings between 59 and 60hz, while Honda is rock solid 59.9hz , that's disappointing.
Cannot get the generator to charge the batteries, it only bypassed to load, disappointing.
Going to try to connect to it with PC and see if I can...
Just watched Will's review, kind of a buzz kill with the high self consumption (50+watts). I believe there is a sleep mode, but then you would have night lights blinking all night. The monitoring is nice but no wi-fi in our area. I understand some people love the monitoring aspect of this gear...
The closest I can find is the Morningstar Suresine 1250 watt, 12 watt self consumption with a 3 minute rating at 40c of 1500 watts, but it is double the price of the Victron Phoenix.
Rated charge current: LFP batteries have a BMS. Both the BMS and the cells of the battery have limits. Generally speaking, a 100Ah battery can be discharged at 1C (100A) and charged at 0.5C (50A).
Wouldn't .5C be 200 amps instead of 50 amps?
I thought it was C= capacity/ the following number...
JoeHam, I have one of the 300 watt Suresines in service for our bunkhouse at the cabin for the last 3 years and it has been perfect and very efficient.
As time2roll states it is their new line, no built in battery charger but some other neat features.
I used an old Trace T220 transformer, but there are others out there that should work also. I used the Trace/Xantrex T240 on the output of the inverter initially, but it was too large for the space needed by the pressure switch.
Yes, I did use administrator as the password, not sure if that took either? Does the colon need to be used with the password? I did not try that.
I think I need more time to research, and more time to mess around with it. Do you get some type of prompt letting you know a setting has been...
Hoppecke manual has a reconditioning section in it for their NiCad batteries which basically states full discharge and recharge a number of times till capacity returns.
Our crash barrier had a charger failure and we lost one of the 10 year old 12 volt banks, I ended up with the other one. It is...
It will not work in bypass, the inverter and generator do not sync to allow it to bypass?
I do have the Yamaha powering a separate battery charger as I am typing this.
The deal breaker for me is it wont charge the batteries even with the Honda.
I have not had the chance to allow the batteries to...
I would also test the specific gravity of all your batteries, this will let you know if you are getting the full charge they need.
Nice solid "old school" set up you have there.
I am currently upgrading my "old school " set up also, but my panels were even older than yours, all 12 volt...
I can't be too down on Exeltech, I pulled it from our telecom room fall of 21, it has been running 24/7 365 since sometime in 2007! I am debating if I should send it in and have the electrolytic caps freshened up and refurbed. I have next to nothing into it.
But it was still in a raceway (open cable tray) till point of use (drop cord). We, at our site, have to look at it as "is it safe?" "is it compliant?" Some states do not enforce electrical code as vigilant as others. Not all states have reciprocity with each other, so contractors from different...
According to the Iron Edison manual. A Nickel Iron battery’s electrical capacity will degragate approximately 1% per year under normal use. This is due to a carbonate buildup in the electrolyte. Due to this degradation, it is recommended to replace the battery’s electrolyte every 10 years +/- to...
I just purchased a small set from Iron Edison in September 2021. I do know they just received a large shipment of inventory very recently. I have no affiliation with them at all.
Great story, I do not think the batteries in question are Nickel Iron type or Edison cells.
They do indeed look like Aquion batteries, which have a Salt water electrolyte.
