This post is to make this information i had to figure out on my own widely available.
I have a Generac 24kw with the Evo 2.0 controller. I wanted my inverter to control the auto start function via the 2 wire start stop and not use the ats. By doing so I was unable to charge the battery without running a battery charger out to it and i couldn't find anything concrete on how to do so without the ats. I made several posts and got bits of information that allowed me to ultimately figure it out. This information might be obvious to some but wasn't to me so i figured i would share. Do with it what you desire but im not liable for anything you do.
What I did was run 10/2 Romex from my panel out to the Generator grounding it to the ground on the generator, the hot to the T1 and then the Neutral to the neutral bar.
