First time I've seen them used in imo disconnects like that, very cool.I hope these things work! House and Solar System completely protected, just in time for spring Thunderstorms!
Me to. Nothing will protect you from that!MidNite works, yea. Just hope you're not directly struck by lightning.
Got advice from several experts on how to ground them. You can only do so much!Oh, they work (as long as you have them installed correctly and have proper grounding). I use them in all my clients systems. Saved a bunch of them already in lightening storms.
Yeah, who cares if they work. Chicks dig it.Admit it. You just installed them for the cool glowing blue look.
Agreed.First time I've seen them used in imo disconnects like that, very cool.
Glad I invested in them. They work. The system took a good hit, but all of the equipment survived. Ironically, this SPD still tests good but I put a new one in anyway.

I just love those blue lights…I got a few …they create the mood to sit and drink beer and talk to the dog…it’s a guy thing.I hope these things work! House and Solar System completely protected, just in time for spring Thunderstorms!

The blue lights are just a quick visual go/no-go for the internal MOV circuitry. The leds require power from a source to work, but the MOVs inside the SPD are protecting the equipment at all times.Got advice from several experts on how to ground them. You can only do so much!
Let me ask you something since you have experience with them. This is my first night after install. Since there is no power coming from the panels right now the blue lights should be extinguished meaning no power. Are the devices still providing protection with no power?

Hah, no you didn't Sparky. Had a dog named the same thing. Never sat around blue lights drinking beer though!Hah, I called it!
