Manual recommends 8gauge, and honestly, it was hard enough to get 8 in there. I'd feel better with 6gauge but not sure 6gauge would fit in the box and insert securely into the spring loaded lugs. If 6gauge did fit, it would definitely be a struggle. My fingers are all cut up trying to fit 8gauge wire into that tiny space. A larger lower wiring box would be a huge plus.Yes, for the surge. Wire also needs to sized accordingly.
Kornbread,It is supposed to work with SolarAssistant. I don't even plan on hooking it up to the net or bothering with their solarman app.
Had to look up n3h-10x. Guess it was a typo. Anyhow, no I have not hooked up SA to the new nhx inverter yet, but 'should' have the nhx, or at least one of the nhx, up and running this weekend. Knock on wood. Anyhow, I hope a new license will not be required with my old version of SA that's been running on the growatt the past couple years, and it's as simple as plugging in the new inverter, changing a setting in SA, and done. You will need a special cable adapter for the inverter to the pi.Kornbread,
I've joined the N3H-X10-US club. On its way. This will be an 11.7 KW array with one or two EG4 wall batteries. Not sure if the batteries will talk to the inverter or not, willing to go without battery comms.
I am VERY interested in making Solar Assistant work so it can monitor the inverter and the batteries. Have you done so? Any guidance?
Mike C.

Thank youThe nhx is supposed to speak with bms's using pylontech. I 'think' eg4 uses pylontech protocol, not sure which others.

Cool.Anyhow, no I have not hooked up SA to the new nhx inverter yet, but 'should' have the nhx, or at least one of the nhx, up and running this weekend. Knock on wood.
From what I can gather, you need a USB to RS-485 adapter and then to make connections to at least RS485 A/B and GND. It sure would be nice if this just plugged where the Wifi dongle was.Anyhow, I hope a new license will not be required with my old version of SA that's been running on the growatt the past couple years, and it's as simple as plugging in the new inverter, changing a setting in SA, and done. You will need an adapter cable from Watts247. Search (solar assistant) on their website.
Ian also posted on youtube how to hook it up. I should have mine this weekend so I can get it going.
With the better picture from his video, I found a possible candidate:He might not be able to find that connector, but I bet I can, and if so, all will be better for everyone.
I've ordered a few sets, should be here in 2 weeks. I will then have the inverter as well and can report success or failure. With the better picture from his video, I found a possible candidate:
Hey Mike, I just measured the plug on the solarman wifi dongle. It is the bayonet style you have pictured.I've ordered a few sets, should be here in 2 weeks. I will then have the inverter as well and can report success or failure.

Rebadged Amensolar, ok, now I see where the n3h came from.Wholesale N3H-X10-US 10KW 48V Split-Phase Hybrid Inverter Amensolar Factory and Supplier | Amensolar
Looking for a reliable Hybrid Inverter? The N3H-X10-US 10KW 48V Split-Phase Hybrid Inverter from Amensolar is the perfect choice for your energy needs.www.amensolar.com
The Amensolar N3H-X10-US is what Watts247 is selling. He calls is the NHX-10kW, but the certifications have the Amensolar model numbers.

Might be more appropriate if we said re-decaled. He can't change the model number or the certs no longer apply. The sticker (badge) on the side of the device should say Amensolar N3H-X10-US. If it doesn't, then there's a problem with showing that the certs and the unit go together.Rebadged Amensolar, ok, now I see where the n3h came from.
Will do, looking hopeful. It would be nice if you can get a more direct/safer way to connect to the pi. For now guess I'm stuck with the adapter. Keep us updated please.
Do software changes ever have an affect on ul certs?Might be more appropriate if we said re-decaled. He can't change the model number or the certs no longer apply. Do not need all these circuits yet, but ran enough wire in the conduit and have enough circuits to grow over time without a lot of headache. Over 1000' of 10gauge wire and looks like I'm going to need a little more. Amazing how much smaller the pv wire gauge can be when the voltage increases significantly.
Work in progress ...

Hi Mike, The placard on the side does say Amen solar N3X-H10-US.Might be more appropriate if we said re-decaled. He can't change the model number or the certs no longer apply. Will do, looking hopeful.

I wonder about that, too.Do software changes ever have an affect on ul certs?
