Yes thats a good point. Thats one thing I have liked about Midnite solar is they have had the same controllers for years. They have the 5 year warranty and you can send it for service and add 2 more years. I had one fail and they replced fast and easy.
Again nothing wrong. all day nice and cool. Im off grid so for 12-14 hours no AC. Different story if I had AC all night but that really cuts into the batteries. 6pm here is hot and humidity does make a difference even for batteries. All day I have 5 to 6 AC units running so the inverters are...
From what I understand this is how the parallel/series combination will work.
East config
3 panles in series 1st string
3 more panels series 2nd string
Combine 1st & 2nd strings in parallel
West
3 panles in series 1ststring
3 more panels series 2nd string
Combine 1st & 2nd strings in...
Yes all exact the same. I will try and track how much longer I can not dip into the batteries. Panels are cheap and last forever. If it works I might double up.
Midnite solar has a nice desktop app and can see good history on a good visual chart.
Pretty wild isn't it. I look at the solar panles on half my roof and running 5 air conditioners, internet, tvs, big aquariums, and much more. All from the sun hitting one little spot. Elon musk said only need 100 miles x 100 miles in nevada to power all of USA. And 1 square mile of batteries...
Yes for sure starlink will work. I have a router pluged into the starlink. You use the mymidnite2.com do view all your classics. I can see all 4 of mine. Look on you tube Midnite has great how to videos
I have been a huge fan of Midnite solar. I got the hawks bay and now regret it. I have been waiting a year just to get a web access. im switching to EG4 600xp. ive been holding out for a newer version of 6000xp. maybe with a display like the 18k . But for the price I will get 3 of the 6000xp.
Im a BMS newbie so need some help here.
I have 24 large 2volt AGM batteries. Looking for a plug and play system to Monitor voltage to each cell. Looking for Wifi so I can view on my PC remotely.
Also log history is important. They batteries are old and some are going bad. If I can watch the...
I looked them up and might work. I will message them to see what they recommend. I like the widi part and PC monitor
Do you have one? Can you data log? I think it can help me spot bad cells. Tricky to spot bad cells some times.
Do you have one? What is the max AMP at 2.3 volts? I can get them all full with my solar panles easy. I would try to pick one with lowest voltage and see if I can bring it up to the same as others.
Yes thats what I think also. 3 units would handle 15k if I was down on power we could not run as much AC. Thats why I like stackable.
I know my controller and inverter both get hot. Wonder how a all in one like growatt how hot they get.
Growatt says 5 year warranty. Wonder if it it holds up or...
Day time I have a 100 panels flat so getting batteries full is no problem. I want max out sunrise and sunset because its so hot here we need Air Condition 24/7 in the summer.
My question is how the panles are wired. I have 12 panles to work with. 6 east and 6 west. For voltage I put three in...
Looking for recommendations for stackable inverters. about 5000 to 6000 watts each. 2 maybe 3 units. In the summer I have 5 ac units running on a off grid home. But winter I dont consume much at all. Dont really want a controller built in. Looking for somthing with long warranty.
What's wrong with BMS to only view voltage? Charger and balancer can be turned off. I looked at that victron and I would have to buy 24 of them. Also prob wont work down to 1.75volts. Daly 24s BMS is only 100bucks or so. Not sure how it stores data per cell. I would love to see a chart with...
I really love this concept. so many redundancy. Even regenerate when sailing. Perhaps this is the future is hybrid. You have 2 generators or two direct drive motors. Or sails, or solar or even charge when sailing with regen. Wow im sold haha. This boat has two but I think one would still work...
Most efficient way is take a chest freezer and use a inkbird temp controller and set it to 35deg. Cold air stays in even when you open the door. Then I use another chest freezer and set it coldest but have it shut off from 1am to 6am when I am on batteries.
If EG4 cells were not welded I would buy them. Only thing that draws me to SOK is if I have a bad cell I can swap it easy. All components are easy to swap on those. on the EG4 LL what would it take to change a cell? 5 to 10 years down the road maybe some cells might have issues.

Did a quick test yesterday with one panel. I was told I could connect neg and pos from the panel. I then put a clamp meter.
Noon with a panel flat perpendicular to the sun was...
Would this still be fine? Extreme scenario could one aray face East on one MPPT and the other face West on second MPPT? S
Below is what the manual says.
When sizing strings for each MPPT, they MUST be the same model, brand and # per string(series and parallel). All panels on a series/parallel...
Some tips from what I have leaned. I have a large off grid system. Each day we get close to 100deg but its also humid sometimes 70-80%. I insulated a battery room and also wanted to cool the inverters, batteries and controllers. Heat is bad not only for batteries but also electronics. All that...
If power is a issue and you want to get more efficient you can remove the exterior of the fridge and expose the wires and get away from freezer then even add more foam. I would be couriuo s to see before and after efficiency on a mod like this.
If anyone has a 24S 72V BMS can you tell me if it will power on with only 48v?
I have 24 batteries 2V. ITs a 48V system. I only want to monitor voltage using the Daly BMS. My voltage range is 2.25v to 2.35v.
I dont plan on charging at all for now. If it can charge thats a plus.
Im just...
I live in a hot climate and when I had smaller AGm batteries I put in a chest chest freezer cracked open on a controller set to 77deg worked well. Thinking about doing the same with server rack batteries. Wonder if they were in a special rack mounted good if they could be stood up in their...
