Recently setup SA with HA for my test Growatt inverter. Today something very cool worked. I already had Home Assistant integrated with OpenWeatherMap and Solar Assistant. Yesterday I setup an automation with an OpenWeather Trigger to have Solar Assistant change the Growatt to Utility Priority...
Had to replace my well pump at my cabin and went with Grundfos SQ so it will easily start with inverter and/or generator without having a massive system. Buy once/Cry once.
Old 1/2 HP Franklin was 34a (8100w) inrush and 7a run. Duromax 10k was only generator that could start this thing.
New...
Last night/this morning was the first true test of my Senville 24k heating our cabin (monitoring remotely). It's installed on our main level which also has a loft, total main/loft level size is 1050sqft. I had the 6 electric baseboards set to 50F (backup) and the mini-split set to 67F. Got...
Just finished a small test project with a ESP32 Devkit and MCP2515 CANBUS module following the instructions at the below post on the forum. In short, YES!, the Victron Shunt is reporting SOC%, Voltage, Current, and other items to the EG4 6000xp and controlling charge/discharge/etc. Thanks to...
Finally moved everything up to our cabin and set it up. Will be running via voltage for now. Runs critical load panel through interlock in smaller panel. 50a breakers in and out and 8awg wire for AC.
Have to get a Jbox and extend my generator input (wires dangling down on left). PV is after...
Picked up 10 Rec 400w panels from
SanTan yesterday in Savanna. These have never been used as best as I can tell (Manufacturer date of 6/2022). Testing in serial two at a time with my Growatt 3000SPF test inverter. These are maxing out on watts which is awesome. They have some SolarEver 455w...
I know some people will crap on this post because it’s not efficiently using a solar inverter for its full intended purpose but whatever. Some are simply looking for a low cost backup solution for critical loads in their house in the event of a grid outage. That intent is what started me in...
If you haven’t heard, the latest beta of Solar Assistant can now interface with JBD BMS via USB. Super awesome for those that use this BMS. Pics Attached.
Received my 6000xp today, quickly hooked it up to a small battery bank to test it, limited charging and discharge amps for small battery and a few other tweaks. Connected load to a L14-30 plug (pulling abolute max 1800w) which then I use a generator cable to plug right into my Reliance Transfer...
Pulling trigger on some 280s since prices are cheap and want to figure proof my new 48v build. Looking at SEPLOS v3 200amp BMS. Wish they had 300amp to pull full cell power, if needed but most likely will never go over 8k watts peak anyway. SEPLOS still seems to be the most inverter compatible...
Anyone in the U.S. using these ground mounts. Seem interesting. In the TN mountains my cabin gets up to 120mph winds in winter so not willing to put panels on the roof. These seem easy to install with ground screws.

Just watched the @SignatureSolarJames video on the BCS and have a few questions:
1: assume this is really only needed or good practice if you need more than one XW Pro. Assume you can use start with one XW and grow with BCS over time.
2: Trying to understand how the self consumption works...
Started this build today. These small M4 x 10mm terminal screws kinda suck. I’m only trying to torque to 3nm (27 lb-in) but seems way too high, feel like I’m going to strip them out. Any advice on the torque? Paused until I figure this out. Where the BMS negative is connected I bought M4 x...
Has anyone used these inverter/chargers yet in the US? They seem pretty impressive for some moderate split phase power (4200watts with good surge). I have a call into Samlex America to see if they are stackable now or if they will be in the future.
Benefits I see:
UL Listed 1741
Low frequency...
I bought these batteries some time ago from battery hookup and were rock solid. Time to get them back in use with a fresh 2a balancer JK BMS. Nothing like remembering you have LFP cells for a 48v battery.
Has anyone seen this before and know what it means. Inverter config has not changed and this is the first time I've seen this error from doing a quick charge. On the mobile app I get 'UNKNOWN ERROR'.
A few of us here have been struggling what to do with ground/neutral on our Growatt inverters as there is much different behavior on ground/neutral when on UTIL power vs Solar/Battery power. My inverter will always be tied to main panel to charge batteries if no solar available where the only...
Simply testing a smart shunt at the moment with Victron VRM and just have to say I love it. The mobile alert/notifications are highly configurable and timely. Just messing with SOC alerts at the moment. Very cool stuff. These screenshots are just tests to make VRM throw the alerts as my system...
Ugh. I re-boxed my 6000xp for moving it to my cabin before measuring knockouts. Is the trade show pic before the 6000xp was released from @HighTechLab still accurate below?
AC connections:

Has anyone used these AP System RSDs. Seems like a great and inexpensive solution. Seems it can also be integrated with inverters that support sunspec.

Completed a build of two 48v packs made up with 105ah EVE cells. The battery busbars that came with the batteries are 12mm wide by 2mm thick copper. According to the calculator in the link below, the copper bus bars that came with the batteries can only carry just over 28amps. Means this 48v...
Yes, step up from 120v to 240v using Victron autotransformer with Quattro 5000 120v, please don't reply with EU 230v inverters and losing neutral topics.
Planning doing some work with a friend of mine and we're looking to back up some of his house loads, critical loads panel already in place...
Seems like the Schneider inverters don't get much air time here. They are not expensive, output split phase, UL 1741-SA listed. Is there anything wrong with them? They seem to have great surge power also for AC's, well pumps, etc. Understand you need a separate charge controller, but doesn't...
Not solar or electric related question so I apologize in advance but this is a creative bunch.
The only filter on my Senville 24k is at the very top of unit which happens to be about 9ft off the ground. Anyone come up with a supplemental filter that can simply lay on top which can be easily...
This inverter seems super simple to wire up for a grid tied or no sell back solution with CTs. I guess in a grid down scenario you really need to manage your loads as it’s not restricted to a critical loads panel. Am I missing something?
Could it be true? Is this really UL Listed (site says: TÜV Certified(Includes UL1741 and CSA C22.2) and UL Tested). Two of these in parallel could be a very easy and compliant non-inductive load solution. Really wonder about N-G bonding here also.
