"For the folks that read this and think "jeepers, just run the generator","
The've probably never camped beside someone who runs their generator all day long.
"But, I guess it is always a chance buying from AliExpress "
Ive bought from China on occasion(not solar related) or even had a problem but buying ANYTHING from China is a crap shoot in my mind.
Seeing as how the problem seems to be air getting UNDER the panels to severe the connection (of any type) why not put an aid deflector at the leading edge of the panel forcing the air over top the panel.

My shore power chord has an adapter to allow me to plug into a standard 110v receptacle household receptacle(15amp). And I use the same kind or receptacle(15amp) connected to the inverter. You might want to look at a switch that allows you to select one or the other(but not both) In my case its...
As I read different posts I try and imagine where they are located.Sometimes the person says "Im in Australia of the UK" but more specific location might be nice. For example Im in Canada but more specifically B.C. If the person could give a better location others could better identify with...
"In the USA, the EPA (Environmental Pollution Agency) decreased funding & support for Energy Star and reduced requirements. Trump does not like Energy Star, rHe instead proposed allowing the EPA to fund the energy efficiency certification through fees charged to companies that use i emember…...
I have a similar situation where I can get 12v 35AH drop in starter batteries fairly cheap.
With SLA batteries designed for starting you CAN use them for deep discharge, but it reduces the life of the battery drastically.
Does Lifep04 have the same characteristics. i.e. although designed for...
In general in your existing system 110 power goes into the converter as 110 and then come out as 12v which goes to all the lights and other 12 equipment. On mine when I installed house batteries (I originally ran house off starter batteries) I put in a bus bar that got 12v power from the...
I would make a cardboard template to "fill in" the areas on each side of the hump and go to a sheet metal shop and have them bend it up in metal(in my case I would use .050 aluminum) and then glue it(VHB tape) and/or rivets. You can attach it either on the top of the panel edge or the front...
As usual this is all hyped by the corrupt media. When the airlines were having a probem with exploding batteries in scooters, phones etc. the media blew it up to make everyone think their phone was going to burst into flames at any moment. And the airlines didn't help it by bannig a lot of items...
I am wanting to put an induction cooktop (single burner) into my motor home
. The specs say its usage is 200-1800 watts.
Am I correct in determining that this unit will use up to 150 amp hours (depending on length of usage) from my 12 volt battery system (thru the inverter) .
Just want to make...
I think the problem for a lot of people who aren't mechanically inclined is they have no concept of torque so they wind up tightening a 1/4" nut with a 1 foot long wrench.
Of course it will either strip the threads or break. Other that crtical engine parts(head bolts, rod ends) I tend to torque...
I would build a frame that allows you to stack 3 panels high. The top panel wolud be fixed and the second and third one would slide out to the side(one to each side).Use heavy duty drawer slides..If you can;t weld the frame then use 2X2 angle aluminum which is easy to drill etc. You can devise...
We have 2 dogs that are similar to your cat situation. Personally, I wouldn't leave them alone in my motrohome realying on electric devices to keep them safe(i.e. cool) At home its different. The house insn't going to get to 150 deg. if the air conditioner quits(actually we don't have a/c in the...
I have a shop full of tools that are mostly plug-in electric. But from time to time it would be nice to have a battery operated tool for areas where you have no electricity. Instead of buying battery operated tools I thought it might be nice to have a portable power pack for those occasions when...
