SRNE 12kW IP65 HES and 10kW ASP

So Xi' an Borick Intelligent Technology is claiming to have stock of the ASP and HES split phase.
I'm skeptical because the SRNE "official" store says not in stock yet.
HES 12k $1679 plus shipping. (I'm guessing around $250). The HES has generator and grid input. Spec shared was already posted once or twice.
Waiting on UL status since it's not called out in spec.

Ahhh don't play games about UL I've been on Diysolarforum to long...

Cap rated 105 C and 2000 hours isn't fantastic but may not be as bad as it sounds.

First, that lifespan is at full ripple current. If operated at less, lifespan increases. I don't know if there is a mathematical way to compute that, but even if there was, we don't know how much ripple current the caps are operated at to feed into that formula.

Second, lower temperature improves life by doubling every 10 C lower. If the caps actually operate at 45 C inside the inverter, which seems plausible, that is 60 C less than the 105 C rating, and this is 64 times the lifespan, or 32,000 hours. That is 3.7 years. Still not fantastic, but not terribly short.

Manual for the HESP attached from the original SRNE sales agent I purchased my ASF from.
It has grid and generator inputs.
ASP is available.

@42OhmsPA let us know what you determine the tangible differences between the two are. I see your comment to her. I am feeling quite lazy to dig right now so I’ll defer to your opinion 🤣

At first I thought it would just be the generator port and IP65 rating but it seems to be a whole lot more. RSD capability, remote CTs, etc... Yea the HESP might cause some waves in the market...
Attached a few screenshots I found interesting skimming the manual.
@42OhmsPA did you figure out if that asp 10kw is actually only $875? I’m getting at least 2 of them if so.
That's the price I was quoted from Borick. I'll update when I get a quote from SRNE store.

I jumped on this thread because I'm looking at getting an SRNE ASF 3 phase unit, and there really is not much around about their performance.

I was quite surprised at the excitement in this thread over the HESP unit as the HES range traditionally used 125-600V DC batteries, which most DIYers tend to stay away from.

But seeing the manual posted above for the HESP, I can see that this is made as a 48V unit.

Anyway just wanted to point out that the SRNE HES and HESP use different battery voltages, and to stay away from the original HES if you don't want to work with high voltage batteries.

HESP does look good on paper for DIY use and quoted prices.

Nice. I think I’m going to order a couple 10kw ASPs

I’ve emailed Sungoldpower as well.
They have updated their listing of their versions and utilize the same manual for both. They have an option to selection “parallel” or “non parallel” so I’m hoping they can explain the tangible differences between the two.
If not, I’m seeing what they can do for me in regards to replacement of my non parallel one

Who was this quote from?

I was given a price today for the 12k SEI split phase I posted earlier of $2038 and the 10k $1955. No shipping cost as yet because the inverter is considerably heavier than the 10k that just arrived. It’s apparently upward of just over 42kg (for our lovely Americans that’s like 42 litres of water or 0.8 hundred weights 1.4 bushels or nearly 93lbs or 6.6 stones) 😀

That ip65 waterproofing stuff is heavy!

This is the inverter that just arrived. Came with a Bluetooth dongle and parallel cable.View attachment 208473View attachment 208475
It is made by SRNE. The UP model is the latest, here is one datasheet for it. https://cn.higonsolar.com/storage/uploads/mp4/202402/03/1706922161_fcdGX4VRqx.pdf

Where things get interesting is the SPI-10K-U is offered by many sellers under many different names. Check out Socreat https://www.socreat.com/products/inverter/ If the number is SPI-10K-SP, that is the EU version and could be stacked. If the number is SPI-10K-U, that is the US version and can not be stacked. The P in UP means parallel.

Did you order 2 or just 1?

Thanks for those links I will take a look.

I just have the one for now as I ordered this for someone else in truth and wanted to test it to see that it worked. I then found @42OhmsPA posts about his inverter and figured this was so similar as to be the same but with parallel. I am thinking of getting 2 more for myself though based on his user experience with them.

@Zwy the fact you say the UP is the latest makes me feel a little better about the fact that I paid $166 dollars more than @42OhmsPA has just been quoted. For 2 though that would be over $300 more 🥺 which is significant.
