The US is actually closer to 17% inflation, despite what those in power are telling you. Visit Shadowstats to see inflation the way use used to calculate it back in the 1980s: http://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/inflation-charts
  • Post in thread: EG4 Lifepower4 48V Top Balancing Firmware.

I was able to upgrade the batteries after installing a new USB-Serial driver, provided by @EG4_Ty. The cable they sent me was fine.
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar Two Hours On Hold Just To Buy an Item!

I think SS should seriously consider using experienced remote help for sales/tech volume overflow. There is simply no need to sit in a cubicle on site to address product and technical questions. Remote staff can have access to internal helpdesk system, emails and a direct line to on site...
  • Post in thread: EG4 Chargeverter

If I had an industrial chemical cabinet, I could put the charger on top and nobody would even notice it
  • Post in thread: How long can you (and your family) survive if the grid went down for an extended period?

I believe what we're observing at the border might actually be a covert operation to import a large number of fighting age mercenaries to eventually do what American service members won't. They'll likely be offered amnesty and citizenship as a reward for their "service". We witness the systemic...
  • Post in thread: Solar and the Economy Your Thoughts??? Or anything else on your mind!

If the past few years hasn't open up people's eyes to the depravity of our collective governments and their global corporate puppet masters, then it's quite possible those who still think the MSM delivers "news" and believe their (s)elected politicians are working for the people will never...
  • Post in thread: Rant: EG4 48v 100ah battery has faulty BMS. Signature solar customer service is TERRIBLE

I wonder if this is one of those situations where you need more than one battery to properly power an inverter with larger surge currents? Some inverters require a min of 200Ah of battery to properly meet all published specs.
  • Post in thread: This forum has 0 ads... Well maybe it could.

I like the forum as is. I wouldn't change a thing. If Will is doing well financially, I sincerely applaud him for giving back to the community in the form of a simple, clean, ad-free forum with great people, learning tools and excellent advice. I understand circumstances may change. I hope that...
  • Post in thread: Is there a market for used Sol-Ark 15k???

I would keep it. There's no guarantee "EMP hardened" will do anything. It's a good marketing gimmick though. If an EMP goes off and it fails, who are you going to call...assuming you could place a call? It would be cheaper to get a backup unit like a 6000XP and put it in a faraday box or...
  • Post in thread: Terrible Signature Solar / EG4 18Kpv Experience - Returning and Replaced with Sol-Ark 15k

Wow...what a long thread. My one observation after reading about the device/support issues aligns with this comment by solardad: It seems that one of the root causes of the delayed and/or unimpressive customer service experience may be the procedural difficulty in returning/replacing a...
  • Post in thread: My Signature Solar Experience (not good)

If I owned Signature Solar, I wouldn't even be in the business of re-selling used panels. Too much hassle for what it's worth.
  • Post in thread: Rant: EG4 48v 100ah battery has faulty BMS. Signature solar customer service is TERRIBLE

Signature Solar is not in the wrong here and they have every right to publicly defend their company and reputation for an issue that is clearly on the customer's end regarding the design of a DIY system. If I owned a business like this, I'd have to weigh the cost of return shipping and...
  • Post in thread: Pictures: Look What a Few Punishing Minutes of Baseball-Sized Hail Did to Massive Nebraska Solar Farm

Likely true but who really knows? I don't believe a word of anything that is said or published any longer. Everything has been corrupted by greed and various agendas. I have come across so many interesting studies these past few years that ultimately turned out to be fraudulent that it is...
  • Post in thread: Dad Jokes (let's hear your worst! ;-)

My all time favorite: Wife: What did you do today? Husband: "Nothing." Wife: "You did that yesterday!" Husband: "I wasn't finished."

Be pretty funny if your number shows in the queue as "***[VIP]*** Will Prowse - DIY Solar Forum (Don't ignore)"
  • Post in thread: Pictures: Look What a Few Punishing Minutes of Baseball-Sized Hail Did to Massive Nebraska Solar Farm

If you compare the current environmental impacts of Canada's wildfires, previous volcanic eruptions, the intentional Nord Stream pipeline fiasco and add that to what China (who ignores the climate regulations) alone outputs annually to run their economy, killing off western economies and small...
  • Post in thread: Brand new and running into some issues.

Looks like your inverter might be 24VDC and your batteries are wired in parallel for 12V. https://www.eco-worthy.com/products/all-in-one-inverter-built-in-3000w-24v-pure-sine-wave-power-inverter-60a-controller-for-off-grid-system Wire the batteries in series and it should work.
  • Post in thread: EG4 Chargeverter

I put a particular member on ignore and my forum experience returned to normal.
  • Post in thread: Schneider XW PRO 6k questions

RLA is Rated Load Amps (normal running current) LRA is Locked Rotor Amps (starting/inrush current) EasyStart doesn't affect RLA because it isn't in the circuit when the condenser is running.
  • Post in thread: EG4 Chargeverter

I think the main issue is billing people before product ships. Waiting a bit longer for a Chargeverter shouldn't be an issue, provided the website indicates that it isn't in stock. Offering an estimated ship date would be an enhancement during the ordering process.
  • Post in thread: EG4 Chargeverter

I agree. Drama isn't part of my DNA. I'm a "Just the facts ma'am" type.
  • Post in thread: Pictures: Look What a Few Punishing Minutes of Baseball-Sized Hail Did to Massive Nebraska Solar Farm

When people use MSM talking points while referring to others as "idiots", it makes one wonder where the information disconnect lies. If anyone still believes the pandemic response was a success, then there isn't much to discuss...other than suggest that their information sources are...
  • Post in thread: EG4 Chargeverter: throttle output due to heat? (new title)

I don't run anything at full bore. Not my Chargeverter, not my generator, not my inverter and certainly not my brain. ;)
  • Post in thread: EG4 Chargeverter: throttle output due to heat? (new title)

LOL...this guy up 12 Chargeverters to power 25 SOK batteries using a 60kW 208V diesel generator:
  • Post in thread: Assuming you pay $0.12/KWh, can you ever come out ahead going full offgrid?

This is the way I'm looking at it. Based on the amount of absolutely criminal and illogical government behavior almost everywhere in the world...especially these past few years, I suspect that their goal for the population is different than what we would like it to be. We should try to protect...
  • Post in thread: EG4 Chargeverter

I placed an order for the Chargeverter today since the 5% off sale covered the Fed Ex shipping. Quite a good deal if it arrives intact and functional. Told the wife it was an early B-day present.
  • Post in thread: Signature solar horrible customer service

I'm kind of mixed on this discussion. I recently purchased an inverter, batteries and rack from Signature Solar and got a great shipping deal and some discounts on the items during their sale. The items were shipped same day and received undamaged within a week. I put the batteries in the rack...

I'm also an engineer, one year out from retirement. I'm also a data guy. Same company for 31 years, 80k employees. Your primary issue is that you haven't broken through the layer of global censorship yet. Once you do, you will find that the people pulling the strings have more control than you...
  • Post in thread: .

My perfect inverter would be a Sol-Ark 15k for $2000.
  • Post in thread: Pictures: Look What a Few Punishing Minutes of Baseball-Sized Hail Did to Massive Nebraska Solar Farm

"Science" has been corrupted by corporate greed. Same as every other system we have. One look at the pandemic response validates this observation. We are being deceived, censored, propagandized and robbed in so many different ways it is difficult to understand what the end game is. But as this...
